 Skyline got off to a bumpy start on Friday night, but the 4A runner-ups fixed things quickly en route to a 62-27 victory over Liberty.

Trailing 21-14 in the second quarter, the Spartans kicked things into gear in the final two minutes of the first half.

Nic Sblendorio tied the game on a 13-yard run. Skyline then forced two turnovers in the finals minutes, capping them off with a 23-yard TD pass from Max Browne to Taggart Krueger and a 1-yard TD pass from Browne to Krueger. The score came with 22 seconds left in the half and gave the Spartans a 35-21 lead.

The Spartans continued to roll in the second half, scoring 48 unanswered points to take a 62-21 lead.

Browne ended the game with five TD passes and seven different Skyline players scored.

The Spartans host Bellevue next at 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 9.
