Coach Van Voorhis is in his third season with the Spartans coaching previously the last 10 years at Eastside Catholic and Lake Washington where he also played. He is known for his intensity during practice and games and usually can be heard even over the crowd noise. He maintains that the biggest influence on his coaching career has been from his father Paul and Coach Chmiel. Coach Van Vooris and his wife Stephanie live in Bothell and he is a design engineer for Kenworth Trucks.
