Skyline football
Browne, a junior quarterback, completed 15 of 22 passes for 222 yards and two touchdowns in a 38-7 victory over Skyview for the Class 4A state championship. His TD tosses covered 35 and 33 yards.
Samantha West
Beamer gymnastics
West, a senior, opened the season with an impressive all-around performance, winning a four-way meet with a score of 37.1 to lead the Titans to the team victory. She scored 9.1 or better on all four events, including a 9.7 on floor exercise.
Skyline football team
The unranked Spartans from Sammamish, coached by Mat Taylor, dominated No. 9 Skyview of Vancouver 38-7 to capture the Class 4A state championship and finish the season 11-3. No other team with three losses has won the big-school title.
