Skyline bowls over Newport

Skyline scored three special teams touchdowns and received big-time play from starting quarterback Max Browne Friday in its 49-20 win over Newport.
Browne (17 of 23, 283 yards) got the Spartans on the board early hitting Andrew Giese for a 55-yard TD. He found Trevor Barney (3 catches, 96 yards) later for a 41-yard TD.
Skyline's final three scores came on special teams plays, starting with Chase Premone's 92-yard kickoff return for a TD. Matt Sinatro added a 55-yard punt return for a TD and Peyton Pelluer returned a blocked punt 10 yards for a score.
Damien Greene and Jack Valencia added 1-yard TD runs for the Spartans.
Skyline improved to 3-0 in league and 4-2 overall with the victory. They host non-league Jackson (4-2) at 7 p.m, next Friday.
Eastlake dominates Mariner
Eastlake made quick work of non-league Mariner Friday night, beating the Marauders 44-7 on their home field.
The Wolves, who led 30-0 at halftime, received three rushing TDs from quarterback Keegan Kemp and three from running back Ryan Lewis.
Kemp scored on runs of 1, 7 and 32 yards and Lewis scored on runs of 3, 13 and 31 yards.
Mariner, which was without star running back KeiVarae Russell, didn't score until the fourth quarter.
Eastlake improved to 6-0 overall with the victory. The Wolves host KingCo Crest rival Issaquah (5-1) at 7 p.m., next Friday.
Issaquah rolls Redmond
Issaquah earned its first league victory Friday night, beating Redmond 48-10 on the road.
The Eagles held a 20-10 halftime lead, before erupting for 28 unanswered points in the second half.
No individual stats were reported.
Issaquah moved to 1-1 in league and 5-1 overall. The Eagles travel to undefeated Eastlake at 7 p.m., next Friday.
